Should kids trick-or-treat on Halloween?

Diane Lasch, Huntley: ““If they’re outside and they do the right thing, wear a mask. And if people can give out candy the right way, keeping their distance, then yes.” | ![]() |

Laura Devlin, Elgin:“There should be some sort of a drive-through trick-or-treat with already premade little bags of candy.” | ![]() |

Brad Sterk, Huntley:
“Given the state of this pandemic, I don’t really see a way of trick-or-treating safely, being six feet apart. You could have the bowl of candy outside and let kids come and grab it, but then all the kids would be putting their hands in, and that’s spreading germs. It’s one of those events that’s not practical with the virus going around. Maybe next year.” |

Lindsey Vitha, Huntley:“Yes. We’re shopping in stores. We’re going to school. If the children are wearing masks, the same as when they go to a store, why can’t they’re trick-or-treat? I think people are taking all the precautions, and parents should clean the candy, but the kids should be allowed to do it.” | ![]() |
