For more than 40 years, David Reid, through Dave’s Pumpkins, has been supplying gourds to Huntley and beyond during the late fall. Nate Draper, in his third year of prepping pumpkins for picking at the patch on Algonquin Road, just west of Rt. 47, clips one loose in the field Wednesday. Dave’s Pumpkins are available now on the stand along Algonquin Road, but pumpkin pickers can pick their own starting Oct. 1 at the patch. It will be open every day, from 1 to 5 p.m., as long as the pumpkins last.
