Huntley early voting locations set to open
Eleven more in-person early voting locations — including one in Huntley — will open starting Monday, Oct. 19, for voting in the Nov. 3 general election, according to the McHenry County Clerk’s office.
All ballot styles for McHenry County are available at all early voting centers with voters able to choose the site most convenient for them.
In Huntley, voters may vote early at the Huntley Park District offices at 12015 Mill Street, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Oct. 31. Ballot drop boxes will not be available at this location
On Nov. 1, early voting or ballot drop-off will be offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Nov. 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the following locations: McHenry County Administration Building in Woodstock, McHenry Township Offices in Johnsburg, the Dole Mansion in Crystal Lake, McHenry City Hall in McHenry, and Lake in the Hills Village Hall in Lake in the Hills.
“It has never been easier for a McHenry County Voter to make their voice heard on Election Day,” McHenry County Clerk Joe Tirio said in a news release. “Voters who want to avoid the lines at their polling place Nov. 3 can visit any of a dozen locations before then and cast their ballot when it’s most convenient for them. Or they can drop them off in a secure drop box, or simply pop their ballots in the mail and be able to track them.”
For the first time, McHenry County voters who vote by mail can sign up for free to track their ballots by visiting a Ballottrax site and entering their name, date of birth and ZIP code.

In an effort to keep poll workers and voters safe from COVID-19, early voting stations are regularly sanitized, hand sanitizer is available, and physical distancing measures will be in place, according to the news release.
Voters interested in voting my mail who did not receive an application in the mail can request an application by calling 815-334-4242 or by visiting the clerk’s office website. People who vote be mail are advised to allow for at least seven days for their completed ballots to be delivered to the clerk’s office. Ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 3 to be counted.
