“Testing is one of the few tools we have to help us slow the spread of COVID-19 and keep loved ones safe,” said Public Health Administrator Melissa Adamson. “When we know who has the disease, we can provide guidance to keep them from passing the virus to others. Our support starts when we learn about a positive result. Contact tracing is critical to disrupting the spread of the virus. So, when you see the number (312) 777-1999 come up on your phone, please answer the call.”
Testing is open to all and no appointment is necessary. Anyone interested can get tested whether they have symptoms or not.
A simple nasal swab will be used, and those tested will receive their results from the State 4 to 7 days after their testing date. A phone number and name are required in order to receive testing results.
COVID-19 testing may be available through McHenry County healthcare providers. To determine if your healthcare provider offers testing, contact the provider or the facility to ask about testing criteria and appointment availability.
