MCDH announces COVID-19 mobile testing dates

WOODSTOCK — The McHenry County Department of Health (MCDH), in partnership with the State of Illinois, is announcing free COVID-19 testing sites throughout December in Crystal Lake, Johnsburg, Harvard and McHenry.

COVID-19 mobile testing units scheduled by MCDH are operated by the State of Illinois. Any resident who is tested at a mobile site can expect to be contacted by the State with their test result 4 to 7 days after the day of their visit. A phone number and name are required in order to receive results. Testing results are also available through the State’s MyChart system.

Weather permitting, mobile viral testing units will be available at the following dates, times and locations:

McHenry County College (Parking Lot F)

8900 US-14, Crystal Lake, 60012

Saturday, December 12, from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Johnsburg High School (Rear Parking Lot)

2002 W. Ringwood Road, Johnsburg, 60051

Thursday, December 17, from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

First United Methodist Church

1100 N. Division Street, Harvard, 60033

Friday, December 18, from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Petersen Park

4300 Peterson Park Road, McHenry, 60050

Monday, December 21, from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Lippold Park Family Golf Center (Parking Lot)

1251 IL-176, Crystal Lake, 60014

Wednesday, December 30, from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

“A negative test result is not a pass to engage in risky behavior, especially if you are the close contact of someone who has tested positive,” said Public Health Administrator Melissa Adamson. “If you do test positive, a public health professional will be in contact with you. You will know it’s us calling if you see ‘IL COVID-19 HELP’ and/or the number (312) 777-1999 on your phone. Because your confidentially is important to us, we cannot text you unless you opt-in to receive continued contact with us after we make initial contact.”

COVID-19 testing may be available through McHenry County healthcare providers. To determine if your healthcare provider offers testing, contact the provider or the facility to ask about testing criteria and appointment availability.
