Huntley Speaks Out
Will you get the COVID-19 vaccine once it becomes available to the general public?

Helen Cole, Huntley: “I’ll get vaccinated as soon as possible. I don’t want to catch it. It needs to [be] eradicated for the sake of our loved ones, our well-being, and our economy.” | ![]() |

Kelly Schumacher, Algonquin: “At this stage in my life, I would say yes, I would get vaccinated but maybe not right away. If I were to get COVID and being that I’m in my late 50s, I would be concerned that I would get a more serious case or have a tougher time recovering. At this point, I feel the benefits of getting vaccinated, outweigh the risks. If I was younger and in good health, I probably would put more thought into whether I would get the vaccine or not.” | ![]() |

Terry & Nancy Galvez, Huntley:Terry: “For me, I’m in my 60’s so I don’t know, I’m on the fence about it.”
Nancy: “I don’t like it, but everybody’s entitled to make their own choice. We have to be careful with what we put into our bodies.” |

Gina, Alexa, & Alyssa Garth, Lake in the Hills:Gina: “Yes, I would if I know the side effects.”
Alexa: “I wouldn’t get it right away, but I’d probably wait a while to see how it goes. I’d probably get it later on.” Alyssa: “I would say the same thing. I wouldn’t get it right away, because I wouldn’t trust it at first.” |

Bill & Carol Waxenberg, Sun City:Bill: “It’s the right thing to do and the scientists say it’s good and it’s safe. I would much prefer to listen to the scientists, then the politicians. If the scientists say it’s a go, then it’s a go. I’m good with that.”
Carol: “From what I saw last night on the news, they showed a graph of the testing that they did with people who got the placebo versus people who got the vaccine. The vaccine people, [the graph] was just flat, hardly anybody got COVID. The people with the placebo, just went up and up and up with infection rates. So [the vaccine] is definitely effective.” |
