Huntley Speaks Out
What advice would you give to the younger generations that you wish you had received at their age?

Deanna Dean Lucas, Huntley: “Invest in yourself. The earlier you start the better. Always save money for a rainy day, because you will have some along the way. Your car may break, you may need to travel unexpectedly. All kinds of unforeseen things.” | ![]() |

Megan Cobb, Huntley: “Don’t be afraid to take some risks and make some mistakes in pursuit of your dreams/goals. This is how you learn and grow. Also, travel now if you possibly can. See how big and diverse and beautiful the world and people are; this will shape you into a person with big, broad perspectives, and introduce you to new things that will make your life richer and fuller. If you can, go live even for just a little while, in a place that is significantly different in several ways from where you grew up. You will see how adaptable and resilient you are, and how new cultures and climates and traditions and mindsets bring personal growth and more enjoyment of life.” | ![]() |

Dalia Garcia, Huntley: “Control your fears. When you stop yourself short from educational, work experiences, or life’s plan, you create a bubble of fear and unfulfilled goals. Life doesn’t end because you don’t succeed the first time. Keep on going!” | ![]() |

Ellen Zenker, Huntley: “Learn a trade. [Most] pay as much as a person with a four-year degree with a fraction of the cost. Make more time for your family. Don’t worry about what others think of you. You’d be surprised how little they actually do think of you.” | ![]() |
