
Deceased male found in Crystal Lake identified
CRYSTAL LAKE – The Crystal Lake Police Department released a statement regarding a call officers responded to alongside the Crystal Lake Fire Department, in the area of Oaks Street, south of Shipland Drive on July 18 at approximately 8:29 a.m.
Upon arrival to the location, police located what at the time, appeared to be an unconscious male subject with no obvious signs of injury. However, upon further inspection, Crystal Lake Fire Department personnel quickly determined the subject was deceased.
The McHenry County Coroner’s Office has since identified the 34-year-old male as Jeremy Ochal.
There has been no cause of death released as of current, however an autopsy was preformed on Monday, July 19. Results of a toxicology report are still pending.
The Crystal Lake Police Department is currently investigating the case and are continuing to gather evidence.
The press release reassures that “there is no danger to the public as a result of this incident.”

Funeral arrangements for Ochal are under the care of Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Algonquin.
Ochal’s sister Jessica, made a statement via Facebook that a mass is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 24 at noon at the St. Mary Catholic Church of Huntley. No further information has been released at this time.
