OPINION: WHY LYND?
D-? Really? I am aghast that many of our elected officials seem poised to enter into a business relationship with Lynd Properties. As was mentioned at the February 24, 2022 Village Board meeting, Lynd Properties has a D- rating with the Better Business Bureau. Goodness sake! Why would our village continue to pursue the development of Regency Square with this company?
On top of more than 1,000 residents who signed petitions to block this development, the proposed development would further endanger the lives of many residents who use Regency and Princeton Roads with their electronic wheelchairs. I recently witnessed seven cars prevent a wheelchair resident from using the crosswalk to continue on Regency. Just imagine how treacherous the intersections will become when possibly 986 more residents call this parcel of land “home.”
From the loss of wildlife and increased noise level, to the incompatibility with the neighboring buildings… it boggles my mind to think that our village would rezone this property and give the D- rated Lynd Properties the go-ahead to create four-story buildings with potentially 986 new residents on this parcel of land.
