
Red Raiders take bows for FVC excellence
HUNTLEY – The All-Fox Valley Conference team members have been announced for spring sports following selections by league head coaches.
Huntley players honored include:
Boys lacrosse: Jacob Gehl, senior goalie; AJ Baumley, junior midfielder; Tyler Readinger. junior defender; Brady Mollsen, senior attack, midfielder; Connor Ardell, junior, attack; Caden Alexander, junior defender. HHS won the conference championship with an 8-0 record. HHS won its first sectional trophy to advance to the super sixteen.
Girls lacrosse: Emma Farr, senior attack; Ashley Zolen, junior, midfield; Kyleigh Higgins, senior midfielder; Allie Ambrogio, junior midfielder; Lindsay Hunter, senior defense; and Allie Wentz, junior defender. The Red Raiders were 4-2 in conference play and won a post-season match over Barrington.
Baseball: Brayden Bakes, junior outfielder; Adam Guazzo, senior pitcher; Brandon Hanley, senior catcher, third baseman; Malachi Paplanus, junior pitcher; Andrew Ressler, junior pitcher.
The Red Raiders won the FVC at 16-2; won a regional title and a sectional semifinal game. They finished with a 31-5 record.
In addition, Brayden Bakes and Guazzo were named all-state by the Illinois Baseball
Coaches Association.
Softball: Zoe Doherty, senior outfielder; Jori Heard, senor pitcher; Clara Hudgens, junior outfielder; Reese Hunkins, senior shortstop; Katie Mitchell, junior outfielder; Madison Smith, junior, third baseman; Meghan Ryan, sophomore first baseman. The Red Raiders were unbeaten at 18-0 in the FVC games, and won a regional title and a sectional semifinal for a 31-7 record.
All-State Class 4A recognition from the Illinois Softball Coaches Association was earned by: Heard, first team; Hunkins and Mitchell, and Mitchell was named honorable mention.
