Huntley Police Department continues to investigate shooting incident in the Wing Pointe subdivision; the suspect and vehicle identified
HUNTLEY — On Monday, July 18, at approximately 4:18 a.m., officers from the Huntley Police Department responded to the 11800 block of Cape Cod Lane for a report of shots fired.
According to Huntley Police Deputy Chief Linda Hooten, the offender had already left the scene of the incident before officers arrived in the area.
Upon their arrival at the residence, authorities secured the area and provided medical aid to two adult male victims who were later transported to area hospitals, stated Hooten.
A preliminary investigation determined that the offender drove to the house of the two victims and subsequently approached the front door where gunfire ensued.
The offender then proceeded to flee the scene in what at the time, was an unknown vehicle, however, authorities have now identified the offender’s car as being a white, four-door sedan.
Investigators believe that this incident does not appear to be random and is specific to the location where it occurred.
Authorities have not made any arrests related to the shooting incident, but have described the suspect as being a Hispanic male who is around five feet five inches to about five feet eight inches tall.
The suspect is also described as having short hair and a stocky build.
Hooten explained that the investigation remains active, with the police department receiving assistance from the McHenry County Major Investigative Assistance Team.
Hooten told My Huntley News that authorities believe there is no further or immediate danger to residents in the area as the incident was confined to a specific home within the subdivision and the suspect is believed to no longer be in the area.
The Huntley Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the police department at 847-515-5311.
Additionally, the police department is asking residents of the Wing Pointe subdivision to review their doorbell and security camera footage from the early morning hours of July 18 in hopes of finding evidence that could assist in the investigation of this incident.
