Residents have a blast during Huntley’s presentation of week-long family-friendly activities
HUNTLEY — Going from July 31 until Aug. 6, several community organizations in the Huntley area decided to team up to host a series of week-long events to allow families to explore and engage across the community and as the organizations put it, “Enjoy Huntley.”
Throughout the week of festivities, residents were able to attend events that were held by Huntley Community School District 158 (D158), the Huntley Area Public Library (HAPL), the Huntley Park District, the Huntley Fire Protection District, the Huntley Police Department, and the Village of Huntley.
In addition to the daily events hosted by the community-based organizations, residents were able to enjoy a free week of fitness at the Huntley Park District Fitness Center and get $1 off their daily admission to the Stingray Bay Aquatic Center.
That wasn’t all that community members had to look forward to, however, as D158’s Director of Communications and Public Relations Alex LeMoine added that participants of the week-long celebration were able to pick up a lanyard and passport that could get stamped with each attendance to the daily events.
Residents who returned their completed passport by Aug. 8, were entered into a drawing to win one of several community-based experiences or prizes which include but are not limited to, winning a 90-minute candy-making party for five people at Morkes Chocolates, being dropped off at school in a police vehicle, winning Huntley High School or D158 swag, and much more.
Huntley residents were pleased with how each event during the Enjoy Huntley festivities was structured, with each event having a good turnout as far as participation goes.
