
Marlowe Middle School to honor area veterans through its annual recognition program
LAKE IN THE HILLS — Huntley Community School District 158’s (D158) Marlowe Middle School (9625 Haligus Road, Lake in the Hills) will be honoring local veterans with a “Veterans Day Recognition Program” on Friday, Nov. 11, according to the district.
The recognition ceremony will take place at the middle school, with all D158 area veterans and their spouses invited to attend.
The event is expected to begin with breakfast served in the school’s cafeteria at 8 a.m., which will be served by students of Marlowe’s Service Club from 8:15 a.m. until 9:15 a.m.
The breakfast will then be followed by the recognition program that will take place in the school’s auditorium from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
According to the district, the program will consist of the introduction of guest veterans in attendance as well as will include musical performances by students in Marlowe Middle School’s band, orchestra, and chorus.
D158 is excited to welcome back its long-standing tradition of honoring area veterans and celebrating their service alongside student leaders.
“On behalf of the entire Huntley 158 school community, I thank each one of our veterans for their service to our country and their leadership in our community,” said the district’s Superintendent Scott Rowe.
The district is eager to honor all veterans residing in the area and welcomes interested attendees to RSVP to the Marlowe Middle School Office at 847-659-4703 by Oct. 27.
“This is truly a cherished tradition in Huntley 158; we are so grateful to have the opportunity to gather together and connect our students to this meaningful celebration once again,” added Rowe.
