Timeline unknown for replacement light on top of Huntley water tower
HUNTLEY — Some residents have taken notice that the light on top of the water tower located on the corner of Main Street and Charles H. Sass Parkway has been out for some time now.
For those wondering why the light is so important, it is because high structures such as water towers are meant to have a light displayed on top to alert low-flying aircraft of its presence in the area.
Huntley’s Assistant Director of Public Works and Engineering, Jason Irvin, told My Huntley News that the light on top of the Main Street water tower was damaged while Verizon Wireless crews were working on their equipment in that location.
Irvin added that Verizon Wireless is aware of the damage and understands the urgency of replacing the light.
Despite the time-sensitive matter, Irvin stated that the village has not been given an exact timeline as to when that light will be replaced, however, they hope that it is fixed soon.
