Cheerleaders earn 2nd at FVC Invite
HUNTLEY — The competition season is wrapping up for Huntley High School cheerleaders, with both varsity and junior varsity squads finished in second place at the Fox Valley Conference championships.
Crystal Lake Central’s contingents won both divisions in the meet held Jan. 16.
The Red Raiders will compete at the IHSA Competitive Cheer sectional coed division Jan. 28 at Belvidere North.
HHS head cheerleading coach Payton Cariato commented on the season.
“The JV has had a phenomenal season,” Cariato said. “Their routine is challenging but they performed it so well. Our goal for sectional is the top five. The athletes have been working so hard to perfect this routine. We’ve hit some road blocks along the way but they constantly have the will to work and be better each week. All three of our teams have phenomenal athletes but more importantly they are really good kids. They care about each other, they are all great sports and have fun with everything they do.”
