
Algonquin PD plans BASSET course
ALGONQUIN — The Algonquin Police Department is offering a free Illinois BASSET (Beverage Alcohol Sellers and Servers Education and Training) class at the Algonquin Police Department. Dates of the class are Jan. 31 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Feb. 1 from 5 – 9 p.m. for Algonquin businesses and employees.
The Algonquin Police Department press release states this class is mandated by the State of Illinois for anyone who provides on-premise alcohol service, such as bars, restaurants, etc. and those required to check identification for alcohol service. This includes any retail location, grocery store, gas station, liquor store, etc. that sells alcohol.
Attendees will receive their BASSET certificate at the completion of the class and the official BASSET card will be mailed when the official BASSET card from the Illinois Liquor Control Commission after the training roster is submitted to the state. The certification is good for three years.
