Stakeholders invited to share school climate views
HUNTLEY — Huntley School District 158 is asking stakeholders to complete the Statewide 5Essetntials survey before March 24.
The 5Essentials survey will be distributed to all parents-guardians students and teachers, according to the District 158 web site. The 5Essentials survey is a statewide effort by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) to “gauge school climate and learning conditions in Illinois schools. The survey will be administered online by the University of Chicago Impact and provides a unique opportunity for students, teachers and parents to have a voice in improving their schools.”
The survey may be accessed through the Huntley District 158 web site, https:Huntley158.org.
“The district is mandated to conduct a survey of school learning conditions every year and your participation is critical,” according to the District 158 web site.
Students in grades 4-12 and all staff will be asked to take the survey from March 6-24. Parents and guardians with more than one child in Huntley District 158 schools must take the survey for each child. The survey is available in both Spanish and English. Participants’ identity will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child.
“The “essentials” critical in school success are: effective leaders, collaborative teachers, involved families, supportive environment and ambitious instruction. Feedback from the tool will be shared in reports to schools and will be reported publicly on the State Report Card website in fall 2023.
