HUNTLEY CROSSINGS plans TO ADD CHIPOTLE
HUNTLEY — The conceptual site plan originally proposed for Lot 4 of Huntley Crossing that included a Valvoline Oil Change store was rejected by the Huntley Village board in December, 2022. The property owners, Core Huntley, returned to the board with a new plan that now includes a stand-alone Chipotle restaurant with a drive-through and a multi-tenant building with a Noodles and Company restaurant and an unnamed medical retailer.
Charles Nordman, Director of Development Services, presented the revised plan for the property on the southeast corner of Route 47 and Huntley Crossings Drive just south of the Harris BMO building. The property backs up to the Hampton Inn access road.
According to Nordman, “the Chipotle Mexican Grill would occupy a 2,325 square-foot building. A drive-through lane would circle the building. The main entrance would face Route 47 with a secondary access on the south side of the building.”
Adam Firsel, Core Huntley Manager, did announce that “neither proposed tenant has signed a lease for the buildings.” He explained that “both companies have given permission to use their names in this presentation.”
He added that “Chipotle will have some inside seating. They have gone to a hybrid model where customers order using the Chipotle mobile app and then use the drive through for order pickup only.”
Firsel said that “the second building would be a two-tenant, single story 4,825 square foot retail building with a Noodles and Company restaurant that incorporates a drive-thru pick-up lane for online orders and a general retail or medical retail store.”
Firsel further added that “Noodles and Company plans to add a 350 square foot patio in front of the building after they take occupancy.”
Trustee Leopold said, “I think you ought to push the buildings back 20 feet and create a larger patio because there’s an awful lot of dining going on outdoors now.” He added, “Noodles and Company already want outdoor dining space and I’m sure that they would like to have more.”
He continued, “I’d like to thank you for the changes you’ve already made to the plan since you first presented them.”
Since this presentation was for a conceptual review by the board no vote was taken and no formal position was offered.
