
Library has trustee openings, invites candidates
HUNTLEY – The Huntley Area Public Library Board of Trustees is inviting residents to apply for one current open trustee position and another one which will open in May.
The deadline to apply is April 30.
“As a member of the library’s board, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the community by supporting our mission to provide endless opportunities to all. promote lifelong learning, and personal growth,” according to a HAPL press release.
The board of trustees is responsible for providing “governance and oversight of the library’s operations, finances and strategic planning. We are seeking individuals who are library lovers and who possess skills in such areas as finance, legal, marketing, teaching, customer service, or nonprofit management,” the HAPL statement read.
Key responsibilities of board members include: attend monthly board meetings; serve on board committees as needed; review and approve the library’s annual budget; support fundraising efforts to secure financial resources for the library; advocate for the library and its services within the community and supervise the library director.
If residents are interested in applying for a position on the HAPL Board of Trustees, submit your resume and a brief cover letter explaining your qualifications and interest in the position.
The present library board consists of: President Chris Budzynski; Secretary Shannon McKibben; Treasurer Vito Benigno,trustees Kathleen Kunde, Majorie Smith and Leslie Threadgill-Smith.
