
HPD’s 20th year of ‘Tip a Cop’ for Special Olympics set
HUNTLEY — On Saturday, July 8, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Culver’s of Huntley, 12950 Route 47, members of the Huntley Police Department (HPD) will be present in support of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Illinois Special Olympics. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of “Tip a Cop”, Culver’s will host Christmas in July to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics Illinois,
According to a HPD press release statement, during “Tip a Cop”, members of the HPD and Special Olympics Athletes will be on-site to collect donations and raise awareness for Special Olympics. Santa Claus will also be there on his summer vacation to help with this event. The 2023 Law Enforcement Torch Run merchandise will also be available.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is the single largest year-round fundraising vehicle benefiting Special Olympics Illinois. Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and competition in 18 sports for over 21,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and nearly 9,000 young athletes ages 2-7 with and without intellectual disabilities from communities across Illinois. Special Olympics transforms the lives of people with intellectual disabilities through training and competition.
