MCC backers attend block party fun
HUNTLEY — Friends of McHenry County College Foundation hosted its first Community Block Party at Sew Hop’d Brewery and Taproom grounds in Huntley July 30.
The event assisted the funds of MCC Student Success Fund at the Crystal Lake college. The fund helps students by providing immediate financial support when they need assistance with unexpected and unique emergency expenses. Bands played and food offered and MCC alumni were given a gift from the MCC Alumni Association. The event was sponsored by the Ruth family of Huntley.
MCC Foundation Executive Director Brian DiBona of Marengo, described how the Community Block Party came about.
“Our Foundation Board had a great idea of creating an event where the community could connect with both MCC and each other,” DiBona said.
