Lawn mowing app that calls itself the ‘Uber for lawn care’ launches in Huntley
HUNTLEY — A national leader in the yard maintenance industry officially launched its services to the Huntley area the week of Aug. 7.
GreenPal, a Nashville, Tennessee-based business, allows homeowners to find local, pre-screened lawn professionals by giving individuals the ability to list their lawn via the GreenPal website or app alongside their preferred service date and lawn care needs, according to GreenPal Co-Founder Gene Caballero.
Once a resident’s lawn is listed, GreenPal works to get that individual at least five grass-cutting bids from lawn maintenance vendors within 24 hours. Homeowners are then given the option to select who they want to work with based on the vendor’s ratings, reviews, and price.
The lawn care vendors that are listed on the GreenPal website are vetted by having their equipment checked, talking with their customers, as well as doing a bank check to ensure that homeowners receive the best price for all their lawn care needs.
After a vendor has completed the service the customer requested, the hired lawn care professional will send a time-stamped photo of the finished job. Individuals can then pay via the app and set up more appointments if they desire.
“After successfully launching in 250 other markets, we are excited to help homeowners in Huntley find reliable, safe, and local lawn care,” stated Caballero.
Some notable attributes of GreenPal include having over one million homeowners signed up and currently using the app; having over 45,000 landscaping professionals running their business on GreenPal; and operating in over 48 states.
Additionally, Caballero added that homeowners can order “contactless” lawn care for same or next-day service, while also indicating that this service is especially beneficial for those over the age of 60.
With 30% of GreenPal customers being in the 60-year-old plus demographic that is particularly vulnerable to health risks, homeowners in this age group greatly appreciate the added safety and convenience provided by the GreenPal platform.
