Boys soccer secures first victory
HUNTLEY — Huntley’s boys soccer team recorded its first victory of the season by dominating South Elgin, 7-1, in an away non-conference match Aug. 26.
The Red Raiders were 1-0-1 record as their season opener was a 1-1 draw with Boylan Catholic. Senior Hudson Nielsen scored the goal against Boylan.
“Boylan gave us a baseline to start with,” Lewandowski said. “It also gave us a look at how the new guys will fit in this year. We return 13 or 14 players from last year’s roster. South Elgin was a little taste of what we are capable of. We have so many different skill sets and so many different players that can put the ball at the back of the net.”
Talon Sargent scored two goals and one assist against South Elgin. Nielsen contributed one goal and one assist while Gavin Eagan, Max Connell, Isaac Jacobo and Kyle Paler added goals and Mason Leslie and Finley Williams had assists.
