Girls golfers gain 4th win
HUNTLEY — It’s been so far, so good for the Huntley girls golf team, which has a 4-0 record this season and is led by senior Aubrey Dingbaum.
The Red Raiders secured a 10-stroke win over McHenry Sept. 7 at Boone Creek Golf Club in Bull Valley, 170-180 for a perfect start in dual matches.
“Dingbaum is playing well and we expect her to peak right at the start of the post-season,” Huntley coach Lindsey Allen said. “She has been a wonderful mentor to our younger players and a great teammate to all.”
Dingbaum and Maddie Lackovic carded 41 scores for the Red Raiders. Kaitlyn Busky turned in a 43 score and Maddie Sloan had a 45.
“The girls have been playing so well against great competition,” Allen said. “The best part of the season thus far is the team community Huntley players have created. The girls are so uplifting and supportive of each other.”
The Red Raiders also downed Marian Central, 176-211, Sept. 5 at Pinecrest Golf Club. Dingbaum had a 38 score to lead the effort while Annie Garrard shot a 43; Sloan had a 47 and Maddie Lackovic.
Four girls are besting an average of 50. Dingbaum leads with a 42; Sloan, 44.8; Kinsey Hanes, 48.6 and Lackovic, 49.
