2023 MCHENRY COUNTY MARINE TOYS FOR TOTS CAMPAIGN KICK-OFF

MCHENRY COUNTY — Marine Toys for Tots distributed 24.4 million toys, books, and games to a record of over 9.9 children in need in 2022. The McHenry County Toys for Tots Campaign distributed 20,673 toys to 5,734 children in McHenry County. “We were astounded by the support provided by our Corporate Sponsors and individual donors. They helped us not only accomplish the mission, but greatly exceed ALL expectations.”

Said Lieutenant General Laster, President and CEO of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.

Today’s children are tomorrow’s future, and Marine Toys for Tots (TFT) is dedicated to ensuring it’s as bright as possible for living in challenging circumstances. Although autumn began only a few days ago, the McHenry County TFT volunteers are

gearing up their efforts to bring hope and cheer to children and families in need. Nationwide the Marine Toys for Tots Christmas Campaign Begins October 1. For the McHenry County Marine TFT Campaign, TFT toy collection boxes will be stationed at

many businesses, schools, and organizations throughout the county in early to mid-November. Those who would like to help children in need in McHenry County can drop off new and unwrapped toys at these locations. Collection box venues will be

listed on the McHenry County Marine TFT website in October. Toy registration information will also be posted on the website for families in need wishing to request a toy. The Marine TFT Foundation states, “Every economically disadvantaged family

who registers… will receive toys for their children, as the long as the local campaign has donated toys to support them.”

Important Items for the 2023 TFT Campaign

Each year toy donations for children 10 years old and above always fall short of the need. Consider donating toys for this age group. Monetary donations can also be made on the McHenry County Marine TFT website. By making your donation at the

McHenry County TFT website the money stays in McHenry County. These monetary donations help us to purchase toys.

Drop off your toy donations early. Do NOT wait until the week

before Christmas, as the toys are needed earlier. McHenry TFT

works with about 20 non-profit organizations that distribute the

toys to kids in need. The majority of our toys will be distributed to families and children by non-profit organizations, that partner with TFT, starting as early as December 11. Toy collection boxes will be removed by December 11, with the exception of select community locations that will be noted on the McHenry County TFT website. As of this release, locations that will be available after December 11 will be the Crystal Lake and Woodstock Police Departments and the Fox River

Grove Fire Protection District.
