Girls golf duo’s season ends
HUNTLEY — Huntley golfers Aubrey Dingbaum and Maddie Sloan concluded their seasons at the Burlington Central Class 2A Girls Golf Sectional at Whisper Creek Golf Course in Huntley Oct. 2. Both recorded rounds of 82.
“Sloan played a season best of 82 on Monday,” Red Raiders coach Lindsey Allen said. “This is an exciting finish to a great season. I cannot wait to see where she goes in her senior year.”
“Dingbaum posted an impressive final round of 82 at sectional,” Allen commented. “She has been such an amazing captain this year and has really played her heart out. I am so proud of her!”
After her final round, Dingbaum recalled reporting for varsity golf practice freshman year.
“Molly Baker, (former0 coach Ann Christensen and coach Lindsey Allen all helped,” Dingbaum said. “Just working for a competitive score. “I’d like to play club level golf in college. I’m keeping my options open.”
“I’m very happy with the round,” Sloan said. “I made two chipped shots at Nos. 2 and 3, from about 10 feet.”
Sloan, a junior, worked on specific game elements this year. “I worked a lot on my confidence in putting,” Sloan said.
Sloan is looking forward to next season, when she will be one of the senior leaders.
