Girls bowlers enjoy good start
HUNTLEY — Huntley’s girls bowlers continue to make steady progress in the first half of the season.
“I’m pleased with the progress this team has shown so far,” Red Raiders coach Eric DeBello said. “It has been a total team effort. When we have started slow someone has stepped up to hold up the team. I don’t think we are firing on all cylinders yet. We have had a few high individual games but no real high series.”
Coach DeBello commented on individual efforts to begin the season.
“Ashlyn Tenglin has had a good start to her season,” DeBello said. “She has set the pace in the lead off spot with a 165 average through 21 games. Jana Boudreau and Mackenzie Miller have improved tremendously. Katie Scaletta, Prianca Waters and Erica DeBello been a solid core for us. Waters leads the team with a 183 average for all events so far.”
Goals are set for the remainder of the duals and Saturday invitationals, which included a recent title at Dundee-Crown.
“We need to improve our consistency and continue to get our spares. If continue to practice hard, continue to hold each other up and have fun like we have been doing we should have a great season. Overall, I’m pleased with what these girls are doing but we are not done and we must continue to get better.”
