
Vehicle collision with pedestrian causes standstill on Main Street between Charles Sass Parkway and Coyne Station Road
HUNTLEY — According to the Huntley Police Department, on Jan. 8 at approximately 3:09 p.m., officers responded to the area of Main Street and Coyne Station Road for the report of a man having been struck by a vehicle while he was completing work along the roadway.
The vehicle that struck the man was traveling eastbound on Main Street when it collided with the male victim, who was on the south shoulder of the road.
The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with what appeared to be critical injuries, stated authorities.
Main Street between Charles Sass Parkway and Coyne Station Road was anticipated to be closed to traffic for at least two hours, according to the Huntley Police Department’s Facebook page.
The Huntley Police Department and the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team (K-CART) are investigating the accident.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area.
