
Girls bowlers reach 14-1 dual record
HUNTLEY — The Huntley girls bowling regular season is winding down as the Kishwaukee River Conference-Fox Valley Conference Invitational and regional tournaments near.
Huntley has a 14-1 record in dual meets. Recently they defeated Marengo, McHenry and Dundee-Crown. The Red Raiders girls finished fourth at the Wauconda Tournament Jan. 20, which turned out to be for five games for each bowler.
“We fought hard and came back,” Huntley coach Eric DeBello said of the Wauconda meet. “After a long day I was pleased with the fight of the girls as we shot our biggest games of the day in games four and five.”
Katie Scaletta finished third overall with a 975 pins total to lead the way. Erica DeBello was next with an 854, followed by Prianca Waters’ 820 and Jana Boudreau had a 757.
In dual meets the Red Raiders won matches recently against league foes Marengo and McHenry.
Against McHenry on Jan. 18, at Raymond’s Lanes, Huntley won 2,481 to 2,066 pins. Erica DeBello had a 571 and Tenglin a 551 to lead.
Against Marengo on Jan. 19, at Bowl-Hi Lanes, the Red Raiders prevailed, 3,145 to 2,831. Erica DeBello topped 600 total with a 602; Waters had a 559 and Scaletta had a 535.
Against Dundee-Crown on Jan. 23 at Bowl-Hi Lanes, the Red Raiders beat Dundee-Crown, 2,986 to 1,194 pins. Erica Debello topped a 600 score with a 605; Waters contributed a 535 series; Scaletti rolled a 519 and a team high game of 231; Jana Boudreau has a 482; Ashlyn Tenglin a 460 and Tarah Wise, 355.
The first KRC-FVC league invitational will be Jan. 26 at Four Seasons Bowl in Sycamore. Then the IHSA Oswego IHSA Regional will be Feb. 3.
