National Night Out events set for Tuesday
HUNTLEY — Huntley Police Department (HPD) will once again offer National Night Out(NNO)activities on Tuesday, Aug. 6.
Huntley Police Chief Linda Hooten commented on NNO’s importance.
“We look forward to NNO every year as a dedicated night to celebrate the positive relationship between the police and our community members. I invite everyone to come out and meet the police officers protecting the Village of Huntley and keeping it safe. We cannot do this without the support of our wonderful residents,” Hooten said.
Events begin with the Huntley Police Department taking on Huntley Fire Department members in a fun softball game at 2 p.m., at Veterans Memorial Field at Sun City.
Then at Huntley Town Square, the fun will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Participants can play family-friendly games with police officers; see Huntley Police and Huntley Fire Protection District equipment.
The Huntley concert series at the square will be Hi Infidelity at about 7 p.m.
“As part of the NNO campaign, the HPD encourages all residents to turn on their outside lights and meet their neighbors,” according to a press release statement.
Algonquin’s NNO
Algonquin Police invite the community to attend the annual NNO from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 6 at Old Town Algonquin on Main Street.
The free annual event features fun for the whole family including giveaways, a K-9 demonstration and HiFi Superstar at 7:30 p.m.
