
Police ask the public for help identifying a deceased man
CARPENTERSVILLE—On Aug. 20, Carpentersville Police Deputy Chief Kevin Stankowitz announced that authorities were investigating the discovery of a deceased male found in the early morning hours on the side of Main Street hill, east of Route 31.
Stankowitz stated that the man appeared to be white with dark brown hair and was in his late 30s or early 40s. The deceased individual was discovered by a passerby at approximately 3:30 a.m.
The roadway was closed for evidence collection but was reopened later in the day.
Currently, the identity of the man remains unknown. The cause of his death is also undetermined, pending the results of a medical examination which is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 21. Carpentersville Police detectives are actively working to establish both the identity and the circumstances that led to the man’s presence at the location.
