
Girls bowling effort rolls to league lead
HUNTLEY — Huntley’s girls bowling team continued to collect Kishwaukee River Conference-Fox Valley Conference (KRC-FVC) wins and also gained a tournament championship.
Four Red Raiders bowlers topped the 500 pins total as Huntley beat Jacobs, 1,548 pins to 1,335 at Bowl-Hi Lanes Dec. 10.
Katie Scaletta led the way with a 573 series while Prianca Waters and Ashlyn Tenglin were close behind contributing a 569 and 566, respectively. Tenglin’s match included a 224 team best game. Erica DeBello contributed a 563 series and Jana Boudreau added a 384 series.
HHS stood at 5-0 record and perfect in conference play with 45 points. Achievements include a third place at the Schaumburg Thanksgiving Invite and first at the Dundee-Crown Scramble. Erica DeBello has both overall wins in the invites.
Coach DeBello commented on Katie Scaletta’s strong start.
“Scaletta has started the year strong medaling at the Dundee-Crown Scramble. She has also been strong in the conference,” coach DeBello said.

HHS beat Johnsburg, with 2,757 pins total to 1,969 Dec. 11 at Bowl-Hi Lanes. Scaletta had a 576 series and a 236 best game. Erica DeBello was next with a 577 series; Waters contributed a 545; Tenglin a 537; Mackenzie Miller a 509 and Kaelyn Keegan rounded out the scoring a 466.
The coach commented on the season Tenglin, a sophomore, has had. This night, she got to wear the “turkey hat” for three straight strikes.
“Tenglin is our lead off at invitationals, and sets the pace,” DeBello said.
Title at D-C
The Red Raiders took home the top honors at the Dundee-Crown Invitational, Dec. 7 at Liberty Lanes. Huntley won two of three divisions and nine Bakers rounds.
DeBello led on the HHS tournament’s scores with a 697 total while Scaletta had a 556, Miller a 527, Keegan rolled a 494, Miller pitched in a 527. Also, Waters had a 477 and Tenglin a 473.
