March 5 set for D-158 strategic plan talks
HUNTLEY — As Huntley Community School District 158 (D-158) continues the work of the district’s current strategic plan during the 2024-25 school year, it is simultaneously taking steps to launch a new strategic plan that will span the next five years.
According to a press release statement from D-158 Director of Communications and Public Engagement Denise Barr, the new strategic plan, “Huntley 2030: Building Tomorrow Together”, will be rooted in collaboration, and aims to reflect feedback, thoughts and ideas from all stakeholders — families, students, educators/staff, and community members.
On Wednesday, March 5, the district will host two strategic planning Vision & Voice sessions to seek feedback and provide an update for all on the progress to date on the district’s new strategic plan. Parents, staff, students and community members are invited and encouraged to attend one of the sessions. The morning session, at the D-158 Administrative Office (650 Dr. John Burkey Drive, Algonquin) is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The evening session will be 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Marlowe Middle School (north cafeteria).
Registration is encouraged but not required.
“As an institution that relies on and serves the community, we must build our strategic plan upon the needs, desires and support from our entire community,” Huntley D-158 Superintendent Jessica Lombard said in the press release statement. “Being able to hear all voices will help shape a plan that reflects our shared commitment to providing every student with the resources, support, and experiences they need to thrive, both now and in the future.”
Those unable to attend a Vision & Voice session are encouraged to visit the district’s strategic planning web page to view the presentations afterward and to stay tuned for future opportunities to share their voice and participate.
