
Huntley Police Department investigates fatal traffic crash
On Tuesday, Sep. 14 at approximately 5:40 a.m., Huntley Police officers responded to a traffic incident involving a single vehicle crash off the roadway of Charles Sass Parkway, east of the retention pond.
According to Huntley Police Department Deputy Chief Linda Hooten, the preliminary investigation revealed that a 2007 GMC pickup truck was traveling westbound on Charles Sass Parkway near the curve when it managed to leave the roadway.
The truck then proceeded to strike a light poll which caused it to roll partially into the nearby shallow retention pond.
Hooten stated that the sole occupant of the GMC truck was ejected from the vehicle and found deceased near the water.
The Huntley Police Department is not releasing the identity of the driver citing pending further investigation into the matter.
The police department is investigating the incident with assistance from the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
