Huntley Police Department continues to investigate a series of business break-ins
HUNTLEY – Tipsy’s Bar and Pizza located at 10753 Dundee Road, announced on Oct. 5 via its Facebook page that the local bar had been broken into the morning of Oct. 4.
Alongside their written update, Tipsy’s also shared a picture of the exterior of their building showing that the front glass door had been shattered open and was being temporarily covered by a wooden board.
“We would like to thank the Huntley PD for their quick actions and securing our location. All employees and customers are safe. At this point, we have no concerns of safety and we are back to business. We are working on getting our front door replaced as quickly as possible. Thank you all for your continued support,” Tipsy’s said on their Facebook.
The burglary was not an isolated incident, according to Huntley Police Deputy Chief Linda Hooten.
“The police department did respond to a total of 5 burglaries to businesses on Monday (Oct. 4). Our detectives have been actively working on all the cases and following up on potential leads,” said Hooten via email correspondence.
Huntley Food and Liquors, another business located in the Wing Pointe Commons, was also reported to have been burglarized on Oct. 4.
Businesses located on the 9700 block of Route 47 and the 11000 block of Vine Street were among the other Huntley area establishments to have reported incidents of a burglary to the Huntley Police Department.
“Due to the ongoing investigation, not much information can be released at this time,” Hooten told My Huntley News.
