Ridgefield-Crystal Lake Presbyterian Church hosts 29th annual Cookie Walk
CRYSTAL LAKE – With the holidays fast approaching, residents might be interested to find out about what exactly a “Cookie Walk” actually entails.
On Saturday, Dec. 11, the Ridgefield-Crystal Lake Presbyterian Church (RCLPC) located on 8505 Church Street in Ridgefield (east of McHenry County College) will have the pleasure of inviting locals to get their fill of delicious holiday cookies from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
This will be the church’s 29th annual “Cookie Walk” where individuals are given a cookie box and then have the opportunity to take their pick from a wide variety of cookies to take home with them.
Cookie boxes will cost $10 per pound with proceeds going towards supporting the church and youth, as well as supporting CASA of McHenry County and Home of the Sparrow, according to Karen Hutchings, secretary of the Rotary Club of Huntley.
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of McHenry County was founded in 2005 with the assistance of retired Judge Ward Arnold to provide abused and neglected children a voice in court to help them grow up in safe, permanent homes.
Home of the Sparrow is a nonprofit organization that provides a short-term transitional shelter, housing programs, and support services to homeless women and children in McHenry County and Northern Illinois.
Home of the Sparrow also owns and operates seven total thrift stores known as Sparrow’s Nest Thrift Store and Donation Center.
