HUNTLEY VILLAGE BOARD HIGHLIGHTS: FIRE STATION ONE TO BE DEMOLISHED
HUNTLEY – Billitteri Enterprise request to make modifications to the original Planned Unit Development (PUD) for the redevelopment of the Coral Street Fire House at 11808 Coral Street faced a significant structural problem. The original plans called for expanding the structure to permit the addition of apartments above the original structure.
David Johnson, the Village Manager, submitted an ordinance to the Village Board to modify the original approval after Billitteri Enterprise discovered that the existing building was not suitable for the planned added structure. Billitteri Enterprise requested permission to demolish the original building since that action would be more cost effective that attempting to add to the original building.
The proposed revision stated, “The exterior of the ground floor unit would be reconstructed to have a similar appearance as the existing structure and the exterior of the upper floors would remain the same as previously approved.”
The requested modification was unanimously approved by the board.
175,600 SQUARE FOOT WAREHOUSE RECEIVES FINAL APPROVAL
Reiche Construction returned to the Village Board for final approval of a 175,600 square foot warehouse at the Huntley Corporate Park at 13801 George Bush Court. Adam Reiche had appeared before the board on January 27, 2022 for a conceptual review of the project. The Village Planning Commission recommended approval of the project at their May 9 meeting.
Charles Nordman, Director of Development Services, presented the revised proposal and stated, “The 10.36‐acre site is proposed to accommodate a 175,600 square‐foot multi‐tenant building that could potentially be divided into four tenant spaces. Staff notes that no users have been identified at this time. The petitioner is therefore requesting a special use permit for Warehouse, Storage and Distribution as a speculative use upon the subject property.”
There was no public comment and the plan was unanimously approved by the Board.
BOWL-HI LANES TEMPORARY TENT
Lisa Armour, Deputy Village Manager, presented a resolution requesting “a temporary use permit for outside dining for Bowl-Hi Lanes from June 1, 2022 to September 30, 2022.”
Armour continued, “The outside dining area consists of a 20’ x 40’ tent in the parking lot from June 1 through September 30, 2022. The hours of operation will be the same as allowed in their Class ‘A’ liquor license. Mr. Zielinski plans to build a permanent structure to continue the outside dining in 2023”
The board approved the temporary use permit for Bowl-Hi lanes.
