
HHS girls golf season proved learning year
HUNTLEY – The Red Raiders concluded play at their Class 2A sectional tournament Oct. 3 at Pinecrest Golf Club. Junior Aubrey Dingbaum was the closest HHS golfer to qualify for the state meet as she shot an 85 for 22nd place.
HHS sophomore Maddie Sloan fired a 95 (48th place) while junior Kylie Szymczak turned in a 100 score (74th) and senior Abby Panier shot a 106 (90th). The four qualified out of the Belvidere Class 2A regional Sept. 29.
“We had four golfers qualify for sectional which made us very proud,” HHS assistant coach Lindsey Allen said. “The girls played very well at regional. The seniors last season paved the way and the girls learned a lot.”
“Dingbaum did amazing the whole season,” Allen said.

“Panier was a great senior leader for us,” Allen said. “She was always positive with everything she did, and is an awesome golfer.”
In addition to Panier, senior Samantha Campanelli concluded her Red Raiders golf career.
Regional scores
At the regional tournament, the Red Raiders’ scores were: Dingbaum, 82; Sloan, 97; Panier, 99; Szymczak, 101. HHS finished with a team score of 379 for fourth place.
