Marengo Police Department calls on residents to help identify individuals suspected of armed robbery
MARENGO — On Oct. 18 at approximately 2:14 a.m., officers from the Marengo Police Department were dispatched to the Casey’s General Store and Gas Station located at 200 East Grant Highway (Route 20), for a reported armed robbery.
Upon arrival, authorities located a suspect vehicle fleeing the area, which resulted in a brief pursuit. The suspect vehicle became disabled after having crashed on Burma Road south of West Grant Highway.
Following the crash, the suspects were able to flee the scene of the accident.

It was later determined that the vehicle driven by the suspects was stolen from Rock County, Wisconsin.
The preliminary investigation revealed that three offenders had entered the store early that morning, armed with handguns.
The offenders then proceeded to demand money from the registers and safe. They left the store with money, cigarettes, and alcohol, according to the Marengo Police Department.
Despite the ongoing investigation, officers were able to provide descriptions for two of the three suspects.

The second offender is believed to be a Black male also around the ages of 17-22, standing at around 6’0” to 6’2” in height, and has a thin build as well.
