Woodstock Police Department continues search for missing man
WOODSTOCK — On Jan. 13, the Woodstock Police Department shared details with the public regarding resident John P. Seputis, who was reported missing by some friends.
The Woodstock Police Department believes that Seputis possibly has undiagnosed Dementia/ Alzheimer’s as he tends to wander and forget his name at times. Seputis is known to carry his wallet that contains his ID.
Authorities say that he does not have a cell phone or a vehicle.
Seputis was last seen on Jan. 8 at around 12 a.m. in the 200 block of Church Street in Woodstock. He is described as having a full beard, which residents refer to as looking like that of a “werewolf.”
Officers are unsure what Seputis was wearing at the time of his disappearance, however, he was known to often wear a baseball-style hat, a Nascar jacket with the number 24 on it, khaki pants, and dark shoes.
The Woodstock Police Department added that they do not believe that Seputis has any family in the area, nor does he have any friends other than the ones who reported him missing. He also has a Chase Bank credit card, which had not been used since Jan. 7.
In an update, investigating officers notified the public about a rumor that has been circulating social media stating that Seputis has been found. That information is not correct, with authorities stating that they still need the public’s assistance in locating Seputis.
Police have searched nearby wooded areas where homeless individuals are known to stay at but have had no luck in locating Seputis there. Some residents believe that he may not even be in Woodstock anymore, though that information has not been verified.
The Woodstock Police Department encourages those with any information regarding Seputis’ whereabouts to please contact the police department at 815-338-2131 or to contact the NERCOMM Dispatch Center at 815-363-2130.
