
Campaign in final days before April 4 vote
HUNTLEY — Huntley Consolidated District 158 has three candidates seeking an unexpired two-year term while nine candidates are seeking three four-year seats. Voters will go to the polls in Kane and McHenry Counties for the local election April 4.
School District 158 candidates for a two-year unexpired term are Andrew Fekete, incumbent Kevin Gentry and Michael Thompson.
District 158 candidates for three four-year terms are: Katherine Policheri; Jonathan Dailey; Melissa Maiorino; Stephen G. Buchs; William Geheren; Laura Murray; Andrew Bittman; Gina Galligar and Paula Yensen. Geheren, Daily and Maiorino are incumbents.
Another contested office is Huntley Fire Protection Board trustee. Incumbents John Davis, Bonnie Bayser and Brian Fluhler are seeking two seats.

Village of Huntley trustee, three candidates for three four-year terms are Ric Zydorowicz; John M. Oiwko and Vito Benigno.
Village of Algonquin trustee, three four-year terms: Brian J. Dianis; Margaret “Maggie” Augier; Deniz Namik; John Spella and George Nwogu.
Village of Lake in the Hills trustee, three four-year terms: Wendy Anderson, Suzette Bojarski, Diane Murphy.
For Elgin Community College District 509, for a full six-year term, with three open seats: Sergio Rodriquez, Patricia Arroyo, Jennifer Rakow and Lucio Estrada. For a four-year unexpired term, one opening, Patrick E. Parks.
For McHenry County College District 528, for two six-year terms: Kirk Donald, Suzanne Hoban and Alyssa Kueffner. For a two-year unexpired term, vote for one, Mark Daniel and Tess Reinhard.
For Huntley Area Public Library, four four-year terms: Leslie Smith, Vito Bengino and Sean Cratty.
For Algonquin Public Library District, two seats, Fred Becker. For two-year unexpired term, Melissa Iwinski and James D. Johnson.
For Huntley Park District Commissioner, two seats: William Awe and Jerry Nepperman.
Huntley Park District, 12015 Mill Street, south entrance, is one of the early voting locations in McHenry County. Hours Monday through Friday are 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. March 27-31. Saturday hours are 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. April 1.
