D.C. Cobb’s of Huntley officially opens for business
HUNTLEY — The moment many residents have anticipated has finally arrived. Huntley’s 5,181 square foot D.C. Cobb’s restaurant, which was constructed on the ground floor of the former Fire Station One property located at 11808 Coral Street, has been open since Oct. 25 but was limited to bar service at that time.
As some might recall, back in June, petitioners for the Coral Street Firehouse development came before the Village Board to discuss potential delays in having the building ready for occupancy due to some unforeseen circumstances involving building materials. As expected, this also affected D.C. Cobb’s.
Despite some setbacks, D.C. Cobb’s owner Dan Hart told trustees that he would continue interviewing and training staff members in preparation for the day the restaurant would be able to open.
On Oct. 28, the D.C. Cobb’s Huntley Facebook page updated patrons that while their kitchen was still not in operation, the restaurant would be partnering with a Smashburger pop-up that would have food options available to order during bar service hours.
Since that last Facebook post, Huntley’s D.C. Cobb’s location has now been able to offer customers food items from their full menu and has even debuted its “Thanksgiving Featured Special Menu.”
In addition, starting on Saturday, Nov. 4, the restaurant will begin opening at 11 a.m. daily instead of opening at 5 p.m. as they have been doing since they debuted in the village.
