Monthly event attracts avid walkers

HUNTLEY — Huntley Park District’s Go Huntley Walking Club hosted a walk around Parisek Park at sunset on Nov. 9.

Go Huntley encourages residents to walk 30 minutes each day for a healthy lifestyle. Northwestern Medicine Foundation is the main sponsor of the Go Huntley campaign.

Participants on the Thursday walk received a Go Huntley t-shirt. Officials said they are working on a date and location indoors for December.

The park district is looking for a group of individuals who are passionate about health and walking to volunteer and lead our new community health program called Go Huntley. These individuals will be called “Champions” and will have various responsibilities to start, grow and lead this program,” according to the Huntley Park District web site.
