HUNTLEY — A new program is being introduced to health and drivers ed teachers across McHenry public schools. After receiving a federal grant called the “drug free grant,” regional office superintendent Diana Hartmann purchased toolkits specifically for teachers to incorporate into their curriculum and create engaging activities for students to learn about drug use and distracted driving.
The toolkits, made by Innocorp Ltd., feature multiple items that students and teachers to use including goggles to simulate alcohol-impaired vision that can be used in multiple games to show the dangers of impaired driving, glasses that show how much alcohol is in different common cups, including beer mugs, martini glasses, and whiskey glasses.
