According to the Randall Road information website, all lanes on Randall Road were officially opened for travel on Sep. 1 except for some miscellaneous work and landscaping being completed over a few weeks.

The website also states that the McHenry County Division of Transportation “identified the Randall Road Improvements as one of the key projects needed to relieve congestion in this heavily traveled north/south corridor of the County.”

The ceremony began at 9:11 a.m. with Huntley Mayor Tim Hoeft delivering opening statements. Following a flag presentation by the Color Guard, Huntley Police Chief Robert Porter led attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Porter then went on to detail his experience with the 9/11 attacks.

Despite masking controls being taken away from schools at the local level, Huntley Community School District (D158) was prepared to present the plans the district was hoping to implement, after Pritzker’s masking mandate is lifted.

D158 Superintendent Scott Rowe, revealed at the Aug. 5 Committee of the Whole meeting, that the district still plans on maintaining certain mitigation strategies like utilizing the three feet of social distancing whenever possible, and allowing students to “Zoom” into their classes if they are in quarantine.

Sometime in July, a now deleted Facebook post on the BBQ King page stated the following:

“BBQ King Smokehouse will be closed for the next two weeks due to the fact that we have been trying to hire for over 6 months and no one shows up for interviews. On top of that the people we had feel they can do nothing and still keep their job.”

Crowe explained to My Huntley News that the Minor Division can only compete at the state level versus being able to play against international teams in the LLWS, an event that is televised. The international games are reserved for kids ages 10 to 12 that are in the division above the Minors.

According to Carpentersville Police Deputy Chief Todd Shaver, officers responded to the scene at approximately 3:15 a.m., where upon arrival, located a deceased male in the north hallway of the apartment complex.

The deceased male was identified as 30-year-old Jorge Sanchez of Elgin who was found with what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
