According to the Aug. 24 Board meeting agenda packet, Patel intends to develop 20.7 acres of the site with 304 units of multi-family apartments. Additionally, the development would include 6 acres of commercial use and have 2.3 acres dedicated for the construction of another hotel.

The project, which they have named “World of Wonders,” will guide guests through different biomes, or areas that are classified according to the species of animal that live in that location.

According to the Randall Oaks Zoo website, the biomes will be expected to immerse individuals in grasslands, forests, and deserts. The project will allow the zoo to have more animals on exhibit and allow the zoo to operate year-round.

Upon arrival, deputies learned that a 16-year-old female Kaneland High School student from Sugar Grove had crashed her gray Subaru into a Harley Davidson motorcycle shortly after exiting the school’s parking lot.

According to an Aug. 22 statement from the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, the female student drove eastbound onto Keslinger Road when her vehicle collided with the motorcycle that was traveling westbound on Keslinger Road.

Shortly after Elgin’s tornado sirens went off, residents reported funnel cloud formations and an eventual tornado touchdown in the Edgewater (Del Webb) subdivision at Bowes and Randall Roads, according to Elgin’s Emergency Operations Center.

Elgin Police Department officers, alongside fire protection personnel, were dispatched to the area at 6:28 p.m.

Authorities described the vehicle as a red-colored Hyundai Elantra.

Deputies began searching immediate areas where the vehicle may have fled to, where eventually, a deputy was able to locate a car on Beith Road that matched the description of the wanted vehicle.

According to a press release statement, Woodstock Police detectives and a member of the McHenry County Child Advocacy Center (CAC) spoke with the juvenile and a parent while at the hospital.

“Later in the day, a multidisciplinary team composed of members of the McHenry County CAC, the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office, and the Woodstock Police Department convened at the CAC,” stated authorities via the press release.
