HUNTLEY - On January 3, 2022, accomplished businesswoman Nancy Binger began her first day as Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce. She took an interest in the position because, as a Huntley resident since 2008, she has an invested interest in the success of the businesses in the area. Her husband is a small business owner and so, Binger has been involved near and around the Chamber for some time now.

She has accumulated a skillset of celebrating and promoting people and organizations, and decided it would be worthwhile to use her talents to help businesses at the Chamber.

McHENRY COUNTY - What began as a casual conversation between colleagues turned into the new rebranding of McHenry County. The discussion in question took place in 2014 between President and CEO Jaki Berggren, President of the McHenry County Economic Development Corporation (at the time) Pam Cumpata, and Tammy Townsend-Denny, the former marketing manager. The women thought it was time to update the outdated brand and the idea stayed with them for years, but it didn’t become official until recently.

It was a long and thorough process to take this rebranding from concept to reality, according to Jaki Berggren.

HUNTLEY - The Huntley Park District has been responsible for many of the structural advancements in our community, but this December, it is undergoing a renovation of its own. Thom Palmer is retiring as Executive Director after 23 years in the position and Scott Crowe, the former Director of Recreation, will step into the role.

Palmer earned a bachelor’s degree in from Western Illinois University and a master’s degree in the subject from Aurora University, both in Parks and Recreation Administration.
