Alchemy Tattoo & Gallery will open in April at 107 E. Highland Ave. The tattoo shop will feature the artistic expression of the four tattoo artists at Alchemy, including Porter, and four gallery shows a year.

Porter, 33, said she wanted to create a more inclusive tattoo shop, especially for women and the LGBTQ community, by eliminating the open floor plan found at typical tattoo shops, and instead incorporate individual rooms for the artists to work.

Despite Huntley resident Brent Mullane having shared concerns about the height of the future redeveloped building at the Feb. 28 Plan Commission meeting and two Commission members voting against the approval of the petitioner’s plans, trustees were relatively pleased with the outlook of what’s to come to the village.

Shannon Andrews, who previously served as the assistant village administrator for Lake in the Hills, has since been appointed by the Village Board to take over Mullard’s position, leaving a vacancy for the assistant village administrator position.

On March 16, Andrews announced that Ashley Eccles, the former communications coordinator for the Lake in the Hills Police Department, had been chosen as the new assistant village administrator.

Once a suspected drunk driver was pulled over and arrested by a law enforcement officer, the offender would be transported to their local police station.

According to a news release statement, the Community High School All-Star award, sponsored by Athletico Physical Therapy, recognizes nine high school football players from March through May who are making a positive impact in their community and school.

Each winner receives a custom hand-painted football, gift bag, and invitation to a future Bears event.

The three recipients of the title include Illinois State Senator Rachelle Crowe (D-Glen Carbon), Illinois State Representative Dan Ugaste (R-St. Charles), and Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser.

“All three of these people have been good friends of law enforcement as new laws have been proposed and discussed,” said ILACP President Mitchell R. Davis III. “Last year, we recognized Attorney General Kwame Raoul and Representative Patrick Windhorst (R-Metropolis) for their advocacy of local law enforcement, and this year we’re recognizing three public officials who stand up for us when we need it most in Springfield and throughout the state.”

The Elgin Police Department explained that Gallagher was born and raised in Ireland and had left his family of 10 siblings to chase his life-long dream of immigrating to the U.S.

Gallagher has a robust social work background and so far during his tenure at the Elgin Police Department, he has worked patrol and he has become part of the Emergency Services Detail (ESD).

The race will begin in the Children’s Medical Building parking lot located at 301 N Randall Road.

Lieutenant Spuhler passed away before he could see his idea put into action.

Richard said, “I started playing the accordion. In the fourth grade, I started playing the organ, and in fifth grade, I joined the band. In high school, I was the lead percussionist. I played all percussions. I sang in the choir. I have perfect pitch.”
