The program was developed back in 2019 in response to the increased opioid overdose health burden experienced by McHenry County residents. Public health professionals, community partners and county residents will benefit from utilizing this program to help identify significant increases in opioid overdose clusters in the county.

According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), “opioids are a class of drugs that include the illegal drug heroin, synthetic opioids such as fentanyl and pain relievers available legally by prescription, such as oxycodone, hydrocodone, codeine, morphine and many others.”

Biden also pitched his proposal to invest in families and education which are topics included in his American Families Plan.

Before Biden’s 30-minute speech to distinguished guests, he toured the on-campus metals lab and MCC’s Children’s Learning Center (CLC).

According to Patrick Fortunato, deputy fire chief for the Huntley Fire Protection District, the fire occurred on the 10200 block of Central Park Boulevard with fire vehicles responding at around 9:55 p.m.

This event is open to McHenry County residents only. No businesses will be accepted, and there is a four banker box limit per vehicle.

“To refresh your memories, the conversation centered around registration fees. On top of serving the community through the club’s efforts, Goldman also participates as a co-sponsor for Huntley High School’s Leo Club. As of recent, the Lions Club was able to award three graduating seniors with a scholarship for $1,000.

According to Goldman, Leo Club members are expected to “come up with and then [enact] fundraisers to help others [and] support the Lions Club International pillars (purposes).”

At the May 28, 2020 Village Board meeting, trustees voted to approve of an outdoor dining plan in an effort to aid local restaurants during the time in which dining in was not permitted due to Gov.

It is known to some residents that certain developments in the area receive a type of tax break from the village, such was the case with the Weber Grill project. Dave Johnson, Huntley’s village manager, elaborated further on if this would be the case for Amazon.

“Regarding Amazon, there was no tax break, property tax abatement nor business development agreement approved as part of the project…In addition as you know, the Village does not establish the assessed values of property (this holds true for Amazon, Hampton and all property),” Johnson said via email correspondence.

Schlichter explained that the program had been investigated by the district for over five years and the BOE would only need to vote on the intergovernmental agreement between D158 and MCC.

“Essentially the vision for our Dual Degree Program is that Huntley 158 students will have the opportunity to earn an associate of arts degree concurrently with their high school diploma.

The Huntley Legion will ask for donations at the door. Charities that the legion collaborates with to help veterans will set up tables with their information at the fest to collect money for local veteran organizations.

One of the selling points for installing a lawn irrigation system was a lower cost to watering your lawn. A separate meter could be installed that would measure the water used for outdoor purposes and a sewer charge would not be applied. Huntley charges for water is $3.67 per 1000 gallons while sewer charges are $4.85 per 1000 gallons, $8.52 total.

The Board of Trustees were slated to vote on the motion to approve of the name change at the May 27 meeting. However, it was discovered by Linda Byrne (whose maiden name is Kreutzer) and her husband Bill, that four out of the five signs once bearing the Kreutzer name, had already been changed to Charles H.

Since that time, the Lions have accepted her challenge, leading to the Board of Directors of Lions Clubs International to declare June 1 as Helen Keller Day in 1971.
