Rowe informed the District 158 community members of his new appointment in a letter the next day. Rowe said the superintendent’s position will not be an action item at the April 20 board of education meeting, it probably will be on the agenda at the May meetings.

The EmergencyCommunications Center (ECC) is looking to add to its Public Safety Telecommunications staff.

HUNTLEY — A dozen individuals residing in Huntley School District 158 are seeking to be elected to four terms when votes are counted after the 2023 Consolidation Election April 4.

Early voting continues this week, through March 31,9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Saturday voting hours are 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. April 1 at Huntley Park District, 12015 Mill Street.

School District 158 candidates for a two-year unexpired term are Andrew Fekete, incumbent Kevin Gentry and Michael Thompson.

District 158 candidates for three four-year terms are: Katherine Policheri; Jonathan Dailey; Melissa Maiorino; Stephen G. Buchs; William Geheren; Laura Murray; Andrew Bittman; Gina Galligar and Paula Yensen.

David Johnson, Village Manager, reported that “On April 14, 2022, the Village Board adopted a resolution approving a development agreement for M/I Homes to develop the Fieldstone Subdivision, an ±82‐acres located at the northwest corner of Haligus Road and Dundee Road, with 173 single family homes.

A third district school, Chesak Elementary School in Lake in the Hills, experienced a Hold in Place and Teach lockdown on March 15, the third such incident after two at neighbor Martin Elementary March 9 and 10. As in the instances at Martin, the Lake in the Hills police  thoroughly investigated the one-hour Chesak Hold in Place and Teach lockdown  and, “no threat to students or staff was present,” according to press releases from the police and the school district.

The free Huntley Easter Egg Hunt  for ages 2 to 8 will take place at Deicke Park, located at 11419 S. Route 47 starting at 10 a.m. Saturday,  April 8. 

The first group will be children ages two and under at 10 a.m. at the Deicke Discovery Zone. 

Other age groups and their times are: 10:15 a.m. ages 2-3; 10:30 a.m., ages 4-5; 10:45 a.m., ages 6-8.
